Our patients recover at our centre after treatment at Wildbase Hospital, they change regularly as they recover and are released back into the wild.
Our resident animals are with us all the time so there is always something to see.
Why am I here?
I was found limping. Wildbase vets discovered I had an open wound and fracture in my left leg, caused by a bullet.
Where have I come from?
Ligar Bay, near Tākaka/Golden Bay at the top of the South Island.
How have the vets helped me?
Vets cleaned my wound, and removed dead tissue to allow it to heal. While healing my leg fracture, vets also treaded me for airsacculitis, a respiratory infection. I am now working on building fitness before returning to the wild.
